At Beaux Belle Health, we offer oral rapid-dissolving tablets for safe at-home ketamine self-administration.  Place the tablet(s) in your mouth, where they will dissolve into a liquid within seconds. Hold the liquid in your mouth for a few minutes before spitting it out. Afterward, put on your eye mask, lie back, and you should feel the effects within minutes.

A “bad trip” is a misconception about ketamine therapy. While challenging emotions may arise, they are temporary and part of the healing process. We provide guidance on creating a calming environment, choosing music, and having support from a trusted sitter. We recommend contacting a psychotherapist, who can help you process any difficult moments if needed.

Ketamine experiences typically last about one hour, starting with a 10-minute period in which the oral tablet is swished in the mouth and then spat out. Effects begin within 10 minutes, with lower doses providing relaxation and moderate to high doses offering more psychedelic and transformative experiences, including perceptual changes and dream-like visuals. Peak effects occur around 30 to 40 minutes after ingestion, tapering off over the next 20 minutes. Most psychological effects last around an hour, with mild residual side effects such as grogginess or nausea lasting an additional hour. Most patients return to normal within three to four hours.

• Side effects are generally short-lived, lasting 2 to 4 hours after your session. They may include increased heart rate, blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, blurry vision, and impaired coordination. Long-term daily use can lead to bladder inflammation, which is why we do not recommend it.
• Please refrain from driving or operating machinery until the day after a good night’s sleep. If you experience concerning side effects, contact your medical provider.
• For immediate mental health support, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or dial 911 in emergencies.

You should not drive, operate heavy machinery, or do anything of high intensity for the remainder of the day following your ketamine experiences. It’s best to take it easy as much as possible after your session to give your mind and body time to rest and recover. You can plan to resume normal activities the following day, after a good night’s sleep.

Alcohol tends to dampen some of the integration of the ketamine experience into the psyche because of its effects

on the brain. Avoid alcohol the day before, the day of, and the day after a ketamine session

Ketamine is generally safe when taken with other medications, with certain exceptions. Do not take ketamine for 24 hours after a recent thyroid dosage. The decision to adjust your other medications during or after ketamine treatment should only be made in consultation with your treating provider outside of Beaux Belle Health.

Ketamine is a legal Schedule III substance, meaning that the FDA has deemed it appropriate for medical providers to prescribe it for medical use in many different situations. Based on decades of substantial research demonstrating the mental health applications of Ketamine, medical providers can legally write “off-label” prescriptions for patients who have these needs.

We do not accept insurance, but we do accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Our program was designed to provide a cost-effective alternative to IV treatments, which can range from $3,000 to $5,000 per month. If needed, we can issue a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement upon request.

You can expect your medication to ship within 1-2 business days after you meet with your medical provider and receive approval to proceed with the program.
